Rental Returns

Returning Your Instrument

Thank you for letting Saied Music be part of your student's musical journey. Whether they're moving on or simply taking a break, we've made ending your rental as easy as possible. Here's exactly what you need to know before you return your instrument.

🎯 The one thing that matters most

To stop your monthly payments and officially close your rental agreement, your instrument must be physically returned to a Saied Music location.

Your rental contract says it plainly: the agreement ends and billing stops only once the instrument is back in our hands at one of our stores β€” either dropped off in person or shipped to us with a prepaid label we provide. Until we receive it and check it in, the account stays open and payments continue.

Good news: you have two easy ways to get it back to us. Pick whichever is simplest for your family.

⚠️ Please don't leave it in the band room

We know it feels convenient to leave the instrument in the classroom, the band office, or a storage locker for us to grab on our next visit β€” but this almost never works, and it can cost your family money.

Instruments left at school get misplaced, picked up by another student, or mixed in with the school's own inventory. Because we can't confirm we ever received it, your account stays open and payments keep coming out β€” sometimes for months. Directors are busy, and their band room isn't a Saied Music location. The only way to protect yourself is to get the instrument directly back to us.

Two easy ways to return your instrument

1 Bring it to a Saied location
Preferred & Fastest

Stop by any of our six stores during business hours. We'll check the instrument in on the spot, stop your billing that day, and hand you a receipt confirming your account is closed. No shipping, no waiting.

Tip: Bring your account number or the name the rental is under so we can find you quickly. See all locations below. πŸ‘‡

2 Ship it back β€” we'll pay for it
Can't make it in?

Too far from a store? Request a prepaid UPS return label using the form below. We'll email you a label to print, so you can pack the instrument and drop it at any UPS location β€” on us.

Once it arrives and we check it in, your billing stops and your account closes. Request a label β†’

Common questions

When will my payments actually stop?

Billing stops on the day we physically receive and check in your instrument β€” either when you drop it off in person, or when your shipped instrument arrives at our store. Dropping it off in person is the fastest way to stop billing the same day.

Can my child's band director just hand it back for me?

We love our directors, but a band room isn't a Saied Music location and we can't close accounts from instruments left at school. To protect your family, the instrument needs to come directly back to us in person or by prepaid shipping label.

What should I include when I return it?

Please return the instrument in its case along with any accessories that came with it (mouthpiece, bow, etc.). If something is missing or needs repair, just let us know in the form or at the counter β€” we'll help you sort it out.

What if I've decided to keep the instrument?

Wonderful! Every payment you've made goes toward ownership. Call us at (800) 777-5541 or visit any location and we'll walk you through paying it off or stepping up to an advanced instrument.

My instrument is too large to ship β€” what do I do?

No worries. Submit the form anyway (or give us a call) and note the instrument. For tubas, basses, cellos, and percussion kits, we'll arrange the best way to get it back to us.
